Why I Write?

Everyone  has their reasons to write. Out of their anger and into their passion. Others write for the surprise of a sentence. Not everyone writes for the same reason, but I write for many.
One of the main reasons I write is to remember or to forget. When I'm stuck in a tough situation or in a really bad mood, that's when and why  I write to forget. So I can clear my mind and hopefully get a better view on what I'm going through, so it gives me a chance to think before I make things worse .Whenever I am in a really good mood or see something I'd love to remember  and never forget. So I can look back and never forget the good times.

  1. I completely agree with you about when your in bad mood and you just kinda want to vent your feelings.

  2. So you write to get rid of the bad stuff? That's interesting. I never really considered how one could write to forget. That's a really healthy application of writing.

  4. I think when I was younger, I mostly wrote to forget. I often felt like writing was a way to purge all the negativity swirling in my head. As I've gotten older, I think I write more to remember. I love how your post made me make that distinction for myself. :) My favorite line in this is "the surprise of the sentence." On the best days, that is what our writing should do... surprise us. Nice work, sugarplum!
